TOSS AND CATCH TENNIS DRILL FOR KIDS

This is a great tennis drill for young beginners. The player starts near the center of the service line. The instructor stands near the net on the other side. The player takes a ball from the hopper, moves forward and tosses the ball underhanded to the instructor. The instructor volleys the ball to either side of the court. The player must track the ball, move to the ball, and catch it. The player may be reqired to catch the ball after one bounce or after two bounces. Some players may find it harder to make the catch after two bounces.

(P) IS A BEGINNING PLAYER LEARNING TO HIT CROSSCOURT GROUNDSTROKES.(C) HITS BALLS TO (P) WHO TRIES TO HIT RETURNS TO THE RED TARGET AREA.(P) GETS ONE POINT FOR BALLS HIT CROSSCOURT INTO THE SERVICE BOX.(P) GETS TWO POINTS FOR BALLS HIT CROSSCOURT AND PAST THE SERVICE LINE.(P) GETS 3 POINTS WHEN HE OR SHE HITS THE TARGET. (C) GETS ONE POINT IF (P)FAILS TO HIT THE BALL CROSSCOURT AND INTO THE SINGLES COURT. PLAY TO FIFTEEN POINTS. IN THE BEGINNING (P) CAN PLAY FROM THE SERVICE LINE. AS(P) IMPROVES, HE OR SHE SHOULD MOVE BACK TO THE BASELINE
